is it too soon to do this yet? 'cause i know that it's delicate; (for [personal profile] talentedscavenger)

[ Somehow, they manage to get called out to two difference scenes in the last few hours of his shift. It's a double edged sword -- less time to text Rey, but it does make the rest of the afternoon go a lot faster. Nothing like a twelve car pile-up and a seven-story structure fire to provide some thorough distractions. Both scenes come out casualty-free, and at the end of it all, Buck sends Rey a selfie of himself grinning in full gear cradling a kitten he rescued, with the promise to be over as soon as he gets showered and cleaned up.

It's somewhere between the shower and meticulously fixing his hair in the mirror that Eddie clocks him for having a date and starts in on the teasing. The grin that Buck most definitely can't keep off his face probably doesn't help.

What can he say? He's smitten.

He makes one stop between the fire station and Rey's place, and it's to pick up a bouquet of flowers and a tiramisu cake for dessert. This takes a little longer than he intended, as it involves a very in depth conversation with the florist about which flowers will best convey 'I really want you to be my girlfriend', and it's here that he learns that floriography is a thing and flowers have a language. It ends up being an arrangement of sunflowers, white lilies, and red roses. Loyalty, commitment, and love respectively, if he kept track of what the florist said properly.

By the time he's knocking on her door, the nerves have kicked up a bit. They're not entirely unwelcome. It's a good sign that this is worth going for. ]

[Rey wasn’t one to date, or have one nightstands. She wasn’t one to actively seek out relationships, believing she would be fine alone. Until she met Ben who showed her how tired of being alone she was. She also learned what not to do in a relationship.

Buck was different. He was open and honest about his feelings. Nothing vague or half-assed. The bar was set in hell, and yet he did more than bare minimum. He exceeded that and more—and may have ruined Rey with sex.

The man knew what he was doing. While Rey had been with one other person, Buck was in a class all his own. It made Rey want to do more—searching the internet for ways to entice and excite him…and damn if her oral game was upped in the process. She wasn’t willing to explore other things with Buck, feeling comfortable and safe to do so.

He didn’t belittle her for being hesitant with exploring. Nor did he shame her for taking things slow. Not when the result was both of them tired and satisfied.

It didn’t take long for Rey to cry out his name as her first orgasm hit her, leaving her a mess. She thanked him for the release, drawing Buck up to her face to kiss his cheek. A few moments of rest until it was her turn to bring Buck the same pleasure he gifted her.

Minutes turned into an hour. Their bodies tangled in the sheets. Rey was sore, satisfied and utterly content. She was curled against Buck’s chest, breathing in his scent while staying close to him.

Dessert was great. Incredible. If she could stay like this forever, she would. ]

…have I told you how great you are? [She murmurs against his skin, tilting her head back to press a kiss to the underside of his jaw. ]
