[Rey wouldn’t use the word ‘beautiful’ to describe herself. ‘Pretty,’ maybe but it always felt like a fake compliment. Something you’d tell another person for the sake of politenesses without meaning it. She thought herself average at best, and while Finn and Poe would give her compliments to help boost her confidence…hearing the arm compliment from someone she cared about, someone who was so sweet, it made her rate up a bit more.
Kindness was a rarity in this word. Something she had been rarely shown as a child. With Buck, it felt like she could come to gradually believe those words.
There were things about her past she had yet to share with him. Hopefully he wouldn’t see her as broken or damaged. That maybe, she was fine as she was—cracks, flaws and all.
The kiss to her head was greatly appreciated. She soaked in his warmth and found there was no better place to be than in his arms.
Sooner or later, they would have to make dinner, but she wasn’t going to make the first move and pull away.
Rey leaned into his touch, tilting her head up for their lips to meet for a soft and sweet kiss. One that made her toes curl and held the potential to turn deeper. It was so tempting to part her lips and truly show how much she’s missed him, but she didn’t want to rush things…At least, not yet.
With a soft hum, Rey slowly pulled back. ] I’ve missed you too.
[More than she thought possible. Waking up to an empty bed didn’t have the appeal it once had. Sure, she had more space to starfish but it wasn’t the same. Was it possible to feel this strongly for someone after a few months? Things with her ex didn’t feel like this.
Then again Ben wasn’t straight forward with his feelings and they got into more spats than she could count. It wasn’t healthy, and while it sucked to break up, it lead her to eventually find Buck. ]
We should, um…make dinner. [ Rey murmured, trying and failing to pull away. ] And I should put these flowers in a vase.
[Even though she murmured what her next task should be, she found herself leaning into to give Buck another kiss.
Fuck, how was it possible to be this smitten with someone? ]
